Margaret Ann Liu, M.D., International Vaccine Institute, Korea
Margaret A. Liu, obtained an M.D. from Harvard Medical School, completed training in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology at Massachusetts General Hospital, was a Visiting Scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Instructor at Harvard Medical School, and the recipient of an NIH Physician Scientist Award. She was an executive at Merck, Chiron, and Transgène, and Senior Advisor in Vaccinology at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Dr. Liu is Vice-Chair of the International Vaccine Institute, consults in the fields of vaccine and immunotherapy, and is a Foreign Adjunct Professor at the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm. Dr. Liu was named one of “The 50 Most Important Women Scientists” by Discover magazine and awarded various honorary lectureships, including the Karolinska Research Lecture series at the invitation of the Nobel Committee.
